The Queensland institution of Technology (Queensland University of Technology) is a public research institution in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Queensland University of Technology has two campuses in Brisbane: Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove. The current Queensland University of Technology was established in 1989, when the Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT) was transformed into a university by the Queensland University of Technology Act 1988, with the ensuing Queensland University of Technology beginning operations in January 1989. Brisbane College of Advanced Education amalgamated with Queensland University of Technology in 1990.

Queensland University of Technology was a member of the Australian Technology Network of universities until September 28, 2018.

In 2020, QUT had 52,672 students enrolled (39,156 undergraduates, 10,390 postgraduates, and 661 non-award students), and 5,049 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff employees.

Programs 

University allows you to pursue your interests. You may prefer to pursue a single degree, such as a Bachelor of Business (Marketing), in which you will focus on one area of expertise. Many of the courses also allow you to include elective studies from other areas of interest. You may, for example, supplement your degree with courses in advertising, design, or even a language. You can also pursue a double degree, which combines two single degrees and allows you to graduate with two certificates, such as a Bachelor of Business (Marketing)/Bachelor of Biomedical Science.

Places at Queensland University of Technology are assigned based on your ATAR or selection rank for the majority of courses. Use the tables on pages 4-19 to estimate the ATAR you'll need. Keep in mind that course levels can vary from year to year.

For the majority of its courses, Queensland University of Technology employs an assumed knowledge approach. This means that the institution thinks you learned specific subjects in high school but does not utilize them as entry criteria. If you can, study the assumed knowledge subjects in school; otherwise, you may struggle with your university courses. Some courses have prerequisite subjects that you must complete in order to be admitted. If your study goals change after you've chosen your senior subjects, you might be able to pick up the information through a bridge course.

Improve your fluency and accuracy by practicing reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Study for as little as five weeks or as long as 45 weeks with students from all over the world. On the first day, a placement test will be administered to establish class placement. 

The EAP programs assist you in developing confidence in speaking, giving presentations, conducting digital research, academic writing, and taking notes in order to improve your language skills at the university level.
